Part 1: Network Node Manager, Customer Views, and Service Information Portal
Part one addresses three OpenView products:
Network Node Manager (NNM),
Customer Views (CV), and
Services Information Portal (SIP). NNM provides a highly customizable tool for the discovery, mapping, and SNMP management of network devices. Many OpenView products rely on NNM''s underlying processes, including CV and SIP.
CV provides the ability to define which customers are affected by which resources, and is commonly used by Internet Service Providers, Managed Service Providers, and outsourcers to allow for customer-based management.
SIP is the glue that pulls many OpenView products together. It provides a uniform display method for OpenView products including NNM, OVO, OVIS, OVSN, OVPI, and OVSD. In addition to displaying your OpenView data, SIP also allows you to display content from your own applications. With SIP, you can create a segmented and custom look and feel to the portal views.
