13.13 THE OPERATOR CONSOLEThe primary tasks performed by the operator include following troubleshooting procedures to resolve the problems reported in the message browser. The operators accomplish the problem-solving tasks with OVO tools found inside the operator's console. The problem-solving tasks are outlined here for reference. There are two operator user interfaces, Motif and Java. The two desktops provide the same basic functionality; this is covered in more detail later in this section. However, some of the key differences between the two should help you make decisions on which is right for your operations environment. Table 13-6 is a comparison of some key differences between the Motif and Java user interfaces.Figure 13-21, contains five primary windows, Root, Managed Nodes, Message Groups, Application Desktop and Message Browser.
