The purpose for this chapter is to explore the performance management capabilities with OpenView out-of-the-box. We describe the features and look at the differences between the OpenView Embedded Performance Component (OVOA_EPC) and the OpenView Performance Agent (OVPA). Throughout this chapter the OVOA_EPC is referred to as OVOA (OpenView Operations Agent). Other popular performance tools are also discussed.
