Chapter 37. Numbering and Sectioning

QuarkXPress and InDesign can both handle multiple sections within a document. For example, the numbering scheme of a book's front matter, table of contents and index may be different from that of its body (perhaps A, B and C for the Table of Contents and 1, 2 and 3 for the body of the book). You control sections using the Pages palette (see Chapter 28 for an overview of the Pages palette).
