Copying Objects Into InDesign
When you copy and paste one or more objects from Illustrator into InDesign, they become InDesign objects, and they can usually be edited just as if they were created using InDesign drawing tools. When objects are copied into InDesign they are not linked to the original file and do not appear in the Links palette. The same thing goes for objects that are dragged from Illustrator onto your InDesign page.Of course, InDesign does not have all of the drawing tools or features found in Adobe Illustrator. Because of this, certain objects will not be editable when copied from Illustrator to InDesign. For example, an object with a gradient mesh becomes an embedded EPS file when it is copied and pasted into your InDesign document. This can be problematic, and we suggest you avoid it when possible.Similarly, when text is copied from Illustrator, it has limited editability. It appears in InDesign as an image and can't be selected with the Type tool, but it prints in high resolution.
