Preference File
You may wish to make a backup of your preferences files to save all of your default settings, or you may wish to delte them if InDesign is behaving erratically as they may have become corrupt. They are located in the folder specified under the Temporary Folder within the General Preferences. This is usually the InDesign Preferences folder, and its location varies based upon the operating system in which you operate. These files are similar to the XPress Preference files that careful users back-up regularly or delete when they become corrupt.
