Setting Up Illustrator

Although you can always copy and paste objects from Illustrator into InDesign, if you are using Illustrator 9 or later you may not be able to edit the objects in InDesign unless you first set up the Illustrator's preferences properly. In Adobe Illustrator, select the Files & Clipboard Preferences (see Figure 63-1). Choose the AICB option in the Clipboard portion of the preferences to keep objects editable when copied from Illustrator into InDesign (AICB is the Adobe Illustrator Clipboard format, similar to EPS).
