Chapter 45. Paragraph FormattingAs you work with text, you organize characters into words and words into paragraphs. When you work on a paragraph level, you shape the way text looks by defining its horizontal alignment, spacing, indents and tabs, baseline grid, text composition, hyphenation and justification, and you create attributes like drop caps and rules. We begin to discuss how InDesign controls paragraph formatting in this chapter. The discussion continues in succeeding chapters: We discuss composition in Chapter 46, hyphenation and justification in Chapter 48, and tabs in Chapter 49. We cover paragraph rules in Chapter 70. |
