Chapter 8. Adobe OnlineThe cool picture of a butterfly on the top of the Tools palette (see Figure 8-1) is more than just a reminder of InDesign's application icon and splash screen. Clicking once in this area activates Adobe Online in older versions of InDesign or Adobe Product Update, which is the replacement for Adobe Online. If you see an Adobe Online dialog box after clicking the icon at the top of the tools palette, click the Adobe Online Preferences button and then click Updates, which downloads the most recent files and replaces Adobe Online with Adobe Product Update. Adobe Online![]() After updating to the most recent version of Adobe Product Update, clicking the butterfly icon takes you directly to the Adobe InDesign product information Web page where you can learn about product updates and bug fixes, locate training resources and learn about additional InDesign plug-ins. While this feature is vaguely useful, it is pretty annoying if you overshoot the selection tools and somehow end up in your Web browser waiting for a page to download. |
